Under limited supervision, develops and promotes Nebraska Department of Labor (NDOL) employment services and products to veterans. Provides follow-up to individual clients and communicates and monitors progress.
APPLICANTS MUST BE VETERANS' OF MILITARY SERVICE.
Examples of Work:
Conducts eligibility determinations, case management and follow-up activities for Department of Labor Veteran programs. Coordinates and collaborates with partners, education and community agencies regarding financial assistance such as Pell Grants, scholarships, etc. to facilitate costs for veteran client training. Provides core, intensive, and training services authorized under Veterans, Rapid Response, and the Work Opportunities Tax Credit Program. Conducts career counseling utilizing appropriate career counseling tools such as O'NET and Labor Market Information for veteran clients requiring such service. Determines program eligibility, including eligibility for partner programs, and for veteran applicants who seek services from a program which has specific eligibility requirements. Administers client assessment utilizing appropriate assessment tools and other planning tools. Interprets results and informs clients of outcomes. Plans, implements, and presents workshops relevant to veteran job seeker needs, including the presentation of such workshops at job fairs, schools, community organization, etc. Performs data entry and data retrieval from the Management Information Systems unique to Nebraska Department of Labor programs. Monitors and continuously improves Federal and Local performance standards.
Hours: 8-5, Monday - Friday.
Qualifications / Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS: APPLICANTS MUST BE VETERANS' OF MILITARY SERVICE. Must submit copy of DD214. Preference will be given in this order: 1) qualified service connected disabled Veteran; 2) Qualified eligible Veteran; 3) Qualified eligible person. Must have a valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent transportation. Post high school coursework or training in social/behavioral sciences, counseling, business, public administration, education, marketing or a related field; or experience in client development and case management including interviewing, research and direct customer service.
PREFERRED: Two years' work experience in the human relations field or any combination of education & experience that equates to two years of human services, behavioral sciences, public/business administration, social sciences, human relations, or closely related field.APPLICANTS MUST BE VETERANS' OF MILITARY SERVICE.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be proficient with a personal computer and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Access, Excel and Power Point). Must have effective communication skills.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
